Ryan Clark has been announced as the new national manager liability for NZI, a move which the company is describing as a ‘key appointment’.

Clark has switched to NZI from AIG where he worked for the last six years, most recently as financial lines manager.

In his new role, Clark will be charged with providing leadership and focus for NZI’s newly combined general liability and financial lines division.

NZI EGM Travis Atkinson said the company was ‘thrilled’ to have Clark on board.

“After our purchase of Lumley last year, we have focused on attracting and retaining key people and expertise into the new business.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ryan on board,” he said in a statement, adding: “It’s a great testament to our reputation in the marketplace that someone of Ryan’s calibre has chosen to join us.”

Clark is known for his extensive experience in liability insurance and his legacy of bringing innovative solutions to the market.

He is also chair of the Insurance Council of New Zealand liability standing committee and a sought after guest speaker.

Clark will commence with NZI on Monday 11 May.
