ACE Group has appointed Shane Greene as Accident & Health manager for New Zealand.

Greene, who had held the position of sales and underwriting manager, Southern Region beforehand, will now be responsible for the ongoing growth and development of what ACE says is its market leading Accident & Health portfolio.

The move comes after Andrew Brooks, who had been appointed Accident & Health and distribution manager for New Zealand in November, was made country president for New Zealand in January.

Brooks pointed to Greene’s proven track record of business development, underwriting leadership and relationship management across both A&H and Property & Casualty (P&C) lines of business as making him ideal for the role.

“This is a critical role for ACE in a business line that is core to our company,” said Brooks.

“It was important for us to appoint someone with both underwriting management and business development experience in order to drive our business forward.
“There is no doubt that Shane has the right credentials to lead this business line to continued growth so that we maintain our position as the premier provider of corporate A&H products in New Zealand.”

Greene, who has over 15 years’ experience in the insurance industry, had previously held A&H management positions for AIG and underwriting roles with QBE and Zurich.

He will be based in the company’s Wellington office.
