Suncorp’s chief information officer (CIO) Matt Pancino is to resign effective 29 April 2016, just two months into his new role, it has been announced.

Pancino had worked for Suncorp since 2010 in various roles, most recently as CIO with responsibility for digital enablement, cloud and infrastructure, services, programs, and innovation labs.

He had been instrumental in delivering Suncorp’s Simplification program and technology projects across the Group.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported Pancino was taking an EGM role at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Suncorp CEO and MD Michael Cameron said: “I would like to recognise and thank Matt for his contribution over the past five years, and wish him well in his future.”

Cameron said an internal and external search was underway and Clayton Herbert, Suncorp’s chief transformation officer, would act as caretaker until a permanent replacement was appointed.
